“Well said in your article about the lawsuit aimed at the ‘toxic waste secret’,” wrote Mike Dry, a process modeling expert living in Peterborough, Ont. “Something we all need to understand is that there are only two sources of material wealth in the world – things that grow and are harvested (agriculture, etc.) and metals/minerals in the ground that we dig up and beneficiate into knives, forks and Ferraris. There’s no excuse for sloppy work that messes up the environment, but if there were no tailings dams, there would be no mining. And without mining, we all go back to living in caves with no knives, forks or Ferraris.”
