MEXICO - Vancouver-based GOLDCORP has poured its first gold at the Peasquito project in Zacatecas. Once commercial production is achieved, Peasquito is expected to produce over 400,000 oz of gold and 30 million oz of silver annually. In addition, substantial amounts of zinc and lead will be produced over the 19-year mine life.
The Peasquito project recently passed the safety milestone of 1.0 million employee-hours worked without a lost time accident.
