BRITISH COLUMBIA – Fortune Minerals of London, ON, has announced that the new name for the Mount Klappan metallurgical coal project is the “Arctos Anthracite project”. Fortune says the new name more accurately reflects the international nature of the development project.

The decision to rebrand the project was rooted in the fact that the former name led to incorrect impressions. The owners learned from the Tahltan people that the Klappan area encompasses a vast region beyond that of Mount Klappan or the Klappan River watershed. The proposed development involves only an area north of the main peak around Lost Ridge.

The Arctos project is operated by Arctos anthracite joint venture, formerly the Klappan coal joint venture. The venture is a partnership between Fortune (80%) and POSCAN (20%), the Canadian subsidiary of the Korean steelmaker POSCO.

Details of the proposed new mine are available in the May 2012 issue of CMJ or at FortuneMinerals.com.
