AUSTRALIA - CAE Mining of Brisbane has signed an exclusive agreement to commercialize the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Resource Organisation's (CSIRO) Sirovision technology, a 3-D imaging and analysis tool for use in mining.
Sirovision has an established user community spanning five continents and includes many of the world's largest mining companies. Since April 2010 and prior to that as Datamine, CAE Mining had been an authorized distributor of Sirovision with numerous clients supported from CAE Mining offices across the globe. The new agreement is part of CSIRO's strategy to commercialize successful mining technologies.
Under the agreement, CSIRO will continue to develop the underlying Sirovision technology; and CAE Mining will further develop the user interface and provide Sirovision users with front line support, training and sales. Support services include version upgrades and technical support.
Version 5 of Sirovision will be released later this year and will be a significant product upgrade. Key benefits include:
• A fully modernized graphical user interface replacing the original blue screens;
• A fully integrated software solution combining the old Siro3D and Sirojoint modules into a single program;
• New automated workflows using project wizards;
• New discontinuity set analysis tools allowing total control through user defined schema and set design capabilities;
• New functionality such as Automatic Wedge Detection between selected Discontinuity sets;
• A new reliable CAE Mining license system providing easy and rapid updates which are fully compatible with 64 bit operating systems such as Windows 7.
