MANITOBA – CaNickel Mining of Vancouver has finished its 8,682-metre winter drill program at the Bucko North nickel property, and the assays are in. Hole BK13-13 intersected 27 metres grading 1.05% Ni. Hole BK13-8 cut three separate areas of mineralization – 6.0 metres at 1.04%, 6.4 metres at 1.28%, and 3.0 metres at 1.41% Ni.

The Bucko North property lies immediately north of the company's suspended Bucko Lake nickel mine near Wabowden, in the Thompson nickel belt. It was placed on care and maintenance in mid-2012, due in part to the falling nickel price.

CaNickel interprets Bucko North to be the northern extension of the Bucko Lake ultramafic sill. The recent drilling intersected nickel sulphide mineralization in 14 of 17 holes.

Detailed assay results from all holes is available at CaNickel.com.
