THOMPSON, Manitoba Buoyed by the potential of the Fox River nickel-copper prospect, CALLINAN MINES of Vancouver has acquired an additional 91,898 ha, giving the company a total of over 131,800 ha. Aerial magnetometer surveys have indicated several intriguing anomalies. Follow-up line-cutting and a geophysical survey are planned.

There is a staking rush on in the Fox River area, says Callinan, and a map of the area is posted at www.callinan.com. The area has great potential to host more underground nickel-copper deposits, similar to the ones being mined by Inco 200 km away at its Thompson operation.

Callinan is planning a drill program for its original Fox River claims. It will target an ultramafic formation that may host sulphide mineralization at the base of an intrusive. The target is 700 to 800 metres long, 80 metres wide, and at a depth of 350 to 400 metres.
