ONTARIO - Drilling conducted by Vancouver-based STARFIRE MINERALS has cut outstanding nickel grades at the company's Langmuir project near Timmins. Hole EL-06-03, drilled in the South zone of the Langmuir No.2 deposit, assayed 9.21% Ni, 0.68% Cu and 0.137% Co over 1.27 m. A separate intersection from the same hole returned 5.90% Ni, 0.92% Cu and 0.032% Co over 1.00 m. Over a total length of 5.55 m, that hole averaged 4.48% Ni. The mineralized zone was located at a vertical depth of 390 m at the komatiite-dacite contact.

The Langmuir No.2 deposit was mined in the late 1970s by a joint venture of Inco and Noranda. In 1989 Timmins Nickel drilled four holes that confirmed the down-plunge and strike extension of the South zone.

Starfire (www.StarfireMinerals.ca) will continue to test the strike length and up-dip expression of the deposit this year.
