WESTERN AUSTRALIA - BRILLIANT MINING of Vancouver reported the discovery of a new zone grading 2.90% Ni over 111 metres at the underground Lanfranchi mine in the Kambalda district. Brilliant holds a 25% interest in the Tramways Tenements project which includes the Lanfranchi mine.

The new zone is outside the previously defined Helmut South resource. The new zone and other intersections have the potential to "dramatically" increase the Helmut South resource base, said Brilliant. Massive sulphide intersections on the basal contact returned up to 6.21 metres at 7.55% Ni.

The Lanfranchi mine is a joint venture of Brilliant (www.BrilliantMining.com) and Sally Malay Mining (75%) of Perth, Western Australia. The partners have a production target of 5,500 tonnes of contained nickel for 2006. The mine was reopened in January 2006.
