ONTARIO Toronto-based FIRST NICKEL says it has confirmed the lateral and down-plunge continuation of the Lockerby Depth zone in the former mine near Sudbury. Separate holes had the following intersections: 12.26 metres grading 3.20% Ni and 1.97% Cu; 66.18 metres grading 1.40% Ni and 1.16% Cu; 39.20 metres grading 1.41% Ni and 0.58% Cu; and 21.70 metres grading 3.20% Ni and 1.03% Cu.
The company says, based on these results, there is good exploration potential above the 63 level along strike of the mined out portion of the deposit. Drilling continues and an updated resource estimate will be made.
