ONTARIO -- Toronto-based FIRST NICKEL has completed the initial mineral resources estimate for its Premiere Ridge deposit on the north rim on the Sudbury Basin near Falconbridge's Strathcona mill. The company estimates there are inferred resources of 1.6 million tonnes grading 1.36% Ni, 0.52% Cu, 0.046% Co plus precious metals.

The results show a promising 10% to 15% grade increase over historical resource estimates, according to First Nickel. Infill drilling returned better-than-anticipated widths and grades in several areas resulting in the better grade estimate.

The Premiere Ridge deposit is about 300 metres along strike, up to 325 metres in dip, and averaging 10 to 15 metres thick. Information about the geology of the deposit and previous work done there is posted at www.FirstNickel.com.
