Well-known CAMESE staffer Francis Bourqui was killed in an automobile accident near his home near Ballantrae, Ont., on Saturday, May 8, 2004.

As director of international market development at CAMESE, Francis was well known and respected in the business community. He was a leader of groups of Canadian mining suppliers to exhibitions around the world. In the last eight years, Francis had organized 80 such events involving hundreds of companies and individuals.

Visitation is at the Taylor Funeral Home (Newmarket Chapel), 524 Davis Dr., Newmarket, Ont., from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2004. The funeral service will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2004. Francis is survived by his wife Mercedes and children Lydia-Maria, Francis Christopher and Jean-Franois as well as his four sisters, five brothers and extended family living in Switzerland.

The CAMESE staff extends condolences to Francis' family and to all who benefited from knowing him. He will be sadly missed by many.
