Two new directors, Brian Robertson and Ron Sowerby, have joined the board of Defiance Silver of Vancouver. Robertson is a registered mining engineer with post graduate training in business administration and over 30 years in the mining industry. Sowerby is a CA with over 35 years experience.

Pitchblack Resources of Toronto has won the Robert E. Leckie Award for Excellence in Environmental Stewardship presented by the government of Yukon. The company received the award for its reclamation and clean up efforts at its former exploration sites and that of other exploration companies that were active in the Peel region, northeastern Yukon.

The management team at Radisson Mining Resources of Rouyn-Noranda, QC, has been shuffled. Mario Bouchard will assume the role of president and CEO. He will receive no compensation or options for his involvement. Former president and CEO Michel David will remain on the board.

Toronto-headquartered Rubicon Minerals Corp. says Mike Lalonde will assume the position of president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2012. Concurrently, David Adamson will resign his position as CEO and become non-executive chairman of the board.
