PERSPECTIVE: No news confirmed

We knew a day like this would come - there is no interesting news from Canadan mines and mills. Thankfully, it is a rare occurrence. So rather than rehash stories that were new earlier in the week, we will simply say that nothing of note from the ranks of mineral producers in Canada crossed our desk on Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

Lest our faithful readers think I am making this up, here is a real headline that did happen to land in my inbox: "Sunset Cove Confirms No News." In the case of the junior, management was confirming that that it knew of nothing that would cause a recent flurry of activity in the company's stock price.

This writer would much rather relate stories of unsolicited takeover bids, feasibility reports, heavy equipment purchases, mine developments, large amounts of money raised for projects in Canada, and so on.

Nope. No real news today. We beg our readers' forgiveness.
