PIT OPTIMIZATION: New FlowPit software faster, with added import-export ability

OTTAWA - Planners of large open pit mines now have access to a new tool - FlowPit 2.0 4-D available from ThreeDify. It is engineered to handle large to huge block models with ease and precision. The developer says advanced computation speed makes FlowPit an effective tool for answering "what if" questions about medium and long term scenarios as well as for determining the optimal pit limit.

FlowPit is faster than the original version and offers several other enhancements. It will generate nested pits for sequences and expanded pits for sensitivity analysis in a single run. It has re-blocking capability, displays cross sectional view and plan views with real-time ore bloc tracking as well as stripping ratio graphs. The software includes MoneyMatrix 1.0 that allows block models in CSV format to be imported from other mine planning programs. FlowPit data can be exported for CSV files for 3-D visualization in MS Excel via ThreeDify's Excel Grapher. Finally, the new program has an enhanced DXF export interface.
