SASKATCHEWAN – Commissioning is well underway at its Legacy potash solution mine and plant near Moose Jaw, according to owner K+S Potash Canada. This is the first Saskatchewan greenfield potash project in nearly 40 years. Commissioning is done on the early cavern development system. The underground openings will collect potash brine so that it can be pumped to the surface and processed. Work on the processing plant is well underway, and the 2-million-t/y output should be achieved in 2017. Legacy potash products will be railed to Port Moody, BC, and shipped to international customers. Everything you want to know about the Legacy project is available at www.KS-PotashCanada.com.
