BRITISH COLUMBIA - Avanti Mining of Vancouver has selected Aconex to supply the online document management and collaboration system for the development of the Kitsault molybdenum mine 140 km northwest of Prince Rupert. The system will allow Avanti and its partners to access, distribute, tack and achieve their files in real-time, using a common platform.

The Kitsault project is in the feasibility stage. The prefeasibility study (see CMJ Net News, Nov. 18, 2009) points toward restarting the pit with an annual mining rate of 14.6 million tonnes or 40,000 t/d.

Doug Rubingh, Aconex VP engineering & resources, said, "Managing information in a structured way is a core element of successfully delivering a project. Aconex streamlines communication processes by ensuring that all data - including drawings, plans, reports, tenders and schedules - is centrally stored and easily retrievable. Every file is logged and tracked, so at any time, it is easy to see the status of tasks. This reduces the risk of disputes and delays by ensuring there is one version of the truth, and speeds up the flow of information between project members."
