VANCOUVER - Stornoway Diamond Corp. has announced the resignation of chairman Eira Thomas to pursue other interests. The noted diamond geologist is a founder of the company and served as its CEO until December 2008.

"Having completed the acquisition of a 100% interest in the Renard diamond project and having recently strengthened the board with the addition of three new excellent board members, I believe the company is now in the strongest position it has been in for years," said Thomas. "Accordingly, I think this is an appropriate time for me to pass the torch as chairman of the company. I wish the company great success and I look forward to seeing the successful development of Renard, both for the company and its shareholders and also for the people of Quebec."

Stornoway is assessing the Renard project with plans to make it the first diamond mine in Quebec. Details are available at www.StornowayDiamonds.com.
