ALBERTA - CANADIAN NATURAL RESOURCES (CNRL) of Calgary has order three new 4100C Boss rope shovels from P&H MINEPRO SERVICES CANADA. The shovels will be used to mine oil sands at CNRL's $6.8-billion Horizon project near Fort McMurray.

The new Boss machines will feature state-of-the-art systems, such as the P&H Centurion system, the all-new cab with the P&H loading control centre, and more. The three-million-pound weight of Boss shovels is supported on 138-inch track pads, providing efficient manoeuvrability in the soft ground conditions that are found in the oil sands.
The 4100C Boss shovels for CNRL are scheduled to start digging during the first half of 2008. P&H MinePro Services Canada will assemble and commission the machines, as well as optimize their performance through a life-cycle management agreement.
