SHOVELS: Cat mining shovels step up to new levels of performance

PEORIA, Ill. – When the job is moving material, it’s all about getting as much done as quickly and cost effectively as possible. The next generation Caterpillar hydraulic mining shovels take productivity and fuel efficiency to new levels, with Cat components, technologies and the latest design features fully integrated. They’re built to run all day, every day, with the flexibility to work across a range of applications.

The Cat 6020B cuts fuel costs by at least 25% compared to other 200-tonne shovels.

Model 6015B delivers 15% higher productivity than the leading shovel in the 100-tonne class and 20% better fuel efficiency. With the Cat Acert engine rated at 606 kW, the 6015B offers class-leading engine power for fast cycle times that beat the competition by 5% or more. The shovel comes standard with a 8.1-cu. metre bucket, and that means a bigger load per bucket than standard equipped shovels.

The even bigger 6020B boasts 10% higher productivity than other shovels in the 200-tonne class. Fuel efficiency is more than 25% better than its rivals, giving the 6020B a serious cost advantage.
