A new website is inviting all professionals in the engineering, procurement and contract management industry to join its new social network. Billing itself as the first site of its kind, EPCM World has already attracted almost 2,000 members.

The site has something for almost everyone. There is mine operator news as well as EPCM news, forums, groups covering everything from employment to piping design, events and numerous blogs. Two of the larger groups are those discussing project controls and cost management software. The comments from group members can be informative. Discussion forums cover everything from projects in various parts of the world, expat issues and nuclear projects. The blogs offer many employment opportunities as well as posts from those seeking jobs.

Paging through the website opens doors to a world of information and opportunity. Not all of the site is fully developed, and it needs to attract more members. Meanwhile, it is worth a visit to see what might pique your interest. Who knew there was a mysterious “lost world” beneath the North Sea? Or that the moon might be strip mined to fuel space exploration?

EPCM World also available on Facebook and Twitter, and as an RSS feed. Signing up is free. Visit www.EPCMWorld.com.
