MONTREAL - Sweden's ITT FLYGT, maker of many of the world's heavy-duty submersible pumps, has added a range of stainless steel pumps for corrosive and abrasive environments, such as mines. The largest pump, the 2750, is now available. It will handle liquids, sludge and solutions. They will eventually be available in capacities of 35 to 52 L/sec with heads of up to 74 m.
The new pumps will operate reliably in environments with a pH of between 2 and 10. This represents a considerable expansion of the typical operating range, pH 5-8. The design includes the maximum number of standardized components to lower maintenance costs.
