WINNIPEG and SANDVIKEN, Sweden - Cubex Ltd. and Sandvik Mining and Construction have expanded their dealer agreement to include global distribution of Cubex's QXR down-the-hole (DTH) surface drills. In November 2009, the two companies signed an agreement allowing Sandvik to distribute Cubex's underground mining products.

QXR drills are fully self-contained, diesel-powered, high-pressure DTH drills. They are crawler-mounted and have tilting booms and feeds for maximum flexibility. QXRs are used for a broad range of mining drilling applications, including blasthole production drilling, pre-split drilling as well as exploration and pit dewatering. The QXR drill is known for its robust design, matched with powerful compressors providing 34.5 bar (500 psi) air. A full range of engine and compressor configurations allow the machines to be optimized for 100-, 125-, 150- and 205-mm DTH hammers.

All global sales, customer service and aftermarket support for QXR drills will be transferred to Sandvik.
