VANCOUVER and TORONTO: Teck Resources and Kinross Gold have been listed on the 2013 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), as has Barrick Gold as reported last week.

Teck (Teck.com), which made the list for the fourth straight year, says that only the top 10% of the world's 2,500 largest public companies make the DJSI. Teck is among the leaders in the mining category as it takes steps to achieve its goals in its target areas – community, our people, water, biodiversity, energy, and materials stewardship.

"We're pleased to be appointed to the DJSI for the fourth straight year," said Don Lindsay, Teck president and CEO, "This achievement reflects the work of employees across our company who are committed to continually improving our sustainability performance."

This is the third consecutive year that Kinross (Kinross.com) has made the DJSI. Executive VP corporate affairs James Crossland said, "We are honoured to be included among the global leaders in corporate responsibility … This is a testament to our employees' strong and ongoing commitment to responsible mining."
