NEW BRUNSWICK - Toronto-based ADEX MINING has been awarded the contract for repairing and upgrading the tailings containment area at its Mount Pleasant project to MONTEITH UNDERGROUND SERVICES of Fredericton. Mount Pleasant is a former tungsten producer developed and operated by BILLITON EXPLORATION in the mid-1980s.

The work to be done includes structural repairs to the existing tailings dam, the installation of a new emergency spillway, and upgrades to the existing decant structure. The work is to begin on June 2, 2008, and be complete by Aug. 29. It will bring the facility up to current standards for operation.

The port at Saint John, N.B., is only 80 km southeast of the mine site. Maps and photos of the site are available at www.AdexMining.com.
