BRAZIL – Toronto’s Largo Resources has reported two new production records this month at its Maracas Menchen vanadium pentoxide plant in the Bahia state. On Aug. 23 a new daily production record of 27 tonnes V2O5 or 102% of plant capacity was reached. A day later on Aug. 24, daily production totaled 29 tonnes or 110% of plant capacity.

Another milestone was reached on Aug. 23 when the total amount of vanadium pentoxide produced reached 10 million lb.

The Maracas Menchen mine has the highest grade of any vanadium pentoxide mine yet discovered. Largo began production there in August 2014. Nameplate capacity is 9,600 t/y or 25.4 t/d.
