QUEBEC Laval-based MICROMENTIS, a Canadian leader in solids technology for the mining industry, is announcing its foray into the North American mining market with its introduction of its industry-leading technology, called SWIPS (Surface Wave Intelligent Profiling System). SWIPS is a new scientific wireless technology platform that enables users to visualize, analyze and model the physical and mechanical properties of solids in a non-destructive manner.

For ground investigation, SWIPS can reduce the prospecting and exploration time as well as the number of drill holes required for mining exploration, according to MicroMentis. SWIPS also can improve drill hole yield resulting in valid information. Through the Drill Hole Wizard, SWIPS will help users to integrate complementary data (gravimetry, resistivity, IP and more), plan work, facilitate data gathering, analysis and modeling, plan drill holes, incorporate drill hole properties, and finally support the whole project modeling and evaluation.

This technology also is suitable for investigating manmade infrastructures and detecting flaws. SWIPS provides tools that will respond to many unanswered question regarding solids.

A demonstration video is available at www.MicroMentis.com for site visitors who have the Apple QuickTime video player installed.
