NEWFOUNDLAND – Vancouver’s Canadian Zinc Corp. and Buchans Minerals Corp. are contemplating a shared, central mineral processing facility. It would treat ores from the potential mines of  both companies. Canadian Zinc has three advanced zinc-lead-copper projects in the central part of the province: Long Lake, South Tally Pond, and Tulks South. Buchans is a subsidiary of Minco Plc and holds the Lundberg and other base metal properties in the Buchans mining camp. Metallurgical testing included pre-concentration of ore by dense media separation followed by sequential flotation. Making separate zinc, lead and copper concentrates is the preferred method. Canadian Zinc says a process simulation and cost assessment model are now underway. Please visit www.CanadianZinc.com.
