NEWFOUNDLAND – The summer drilling program extended the Mary March polymetallic zone by 50 metres to the northeast and at depth for Canstar Resources of Toronto. The project, located 20 km from the former Buchans mine in the centre of the province, is owned 50% by Canstar and 50% by Glencore.

Hole MM14-32 was one of two drilled to test a borehole EM target. It intersected 11.5 metres of 1.2% Zn, 0.2% Pb, 1.8 g/t Ag, and 0.2 g/t Au approximately 440 metres below surface. Within that interval, there was a 3.6-metre section that graded 2.7% Zn, 0.1% Cu, 2.4 g/t Ag and 0.1 g/t Au.

The second hole encountered pyrite mineralization, but assays did not return any significant results, said the company.

Canstar is working on a second phase of drilling to test targets identified by a recent IP survey over the Nancy April zone. Assays from this area are expected in the coming weeks.

Maps and images from the Mary March zone are available at CanstarResources.com.
