PERU - Toronto-based VENA RESOURCES has commissioned an on-site pilot mill at its Azulcocha mine 260 km northeast of Lima. The mill is treating 10,000 tonnes of stockpiled 10% Zn ore. A scalable 500-t/d modular production mill should be on-stream during Q1 2008.

Vena is adding a lead recovery circuit to the pilot mill. A potential high-grade lead zone is being investigated on the -40 mine level.

The former Azulcocha mine operated from 1971 to 1984, and Vena is taking particular interest in the tailings left behind. The indicated and measured resources are 975,700 tonnes grading 3.27% Zn, 10.04% Mn and 1.13 g/t Au in three separate areas.

The Azulcocha technical report is available at www.VenaResources.com.
