YUKON - Vancouver's Alexco Resource Corp. has expanded the Onek zinc-silver deposit at Keno hill, drilling 10.4 metres of 1,519 g/t Ag. High-grade zinc-silver mineralization extends at least 400 metres along strike, 220 metres down dip and remains open to the southwest and down plunge.

The former Onek underground mine is located only 1.0 km from the newly completed 250-t/d Bellekeno mill. Alexco is commissioning the mill to treat ore from the Bellekeno silver-lead-zinc deposit 330 km north of Whitehorse. There were 35 former mines in the area operated from 1946 to 1989 by United Keno Hill Mines.

Alexco is expects to complete a 43-101 report for Onek later this month. Historically, resources were estimated to be 77,750 tonnes grading 443.03 g/t Ag, 4.71% Pb and 16.41% Zn and 0.34 g/t Au.

An excellent photo gallery containing underground shots from the Bellekeno mine development is posted at www.AlexcoResource.com.
