CHILE The Pimenton gold mine has sold its first concentrate shipment to the Enami smelter at Ventanas. The Pimenton project is owned by Toronto-based SOUTH AMERICAN GOLD AND COPPER. The mine and mill have been running in start-up mode, and the first concentrates were produced from lower grade stockpiled development ore. The first shipment averaged 14.5% Cu, 95.8 g/t Au and 144.2 g/t Ag.
The company reported that the Knelson concentrator circuit, which will produce a high-grade gold concentrate, is now in operation. More information is available from South American Gold president Stephen Houghton or executive VP William O'Donnell at 212-751-0083.
