NORTHERN ALBERTA - Calgary's SUNCOR ENERGY has set aside $3.5 billion for capital projects in 2006. Approximately $2.5 billion of that amount is earmarked for the company's oil sands project. The oil sands will get an injection of $700 million for sustaining capital and $1.8 billion for growth projects.
When expansion is complete in 2008, Suncor is hoping to produce 350,000 bbl/day from its operation near Fort McMurray. Details are available at www.Suncor.com.
