YUKON - Vancouver-based SHERWOOD COPPER has awarded the EPCM contract for its Minto project to JDS ENERGY & MINING of Kelowna, B.C. The firm is headed by Jeff Stibbard, whom CMJ readers might remember from his roles in developing the Ekati diamond mine and the Muskeg River oil sands mine.
Sherwood also selected CLARK BUILDERS of Edmonton, as its general contractor for the project.
The high-grade Minto copper-gold property is located about 240 km northwest of Whitehorse. Sherwood owns a 100% interest in the project. Construction may begin by mid-2006. Maps and photos are posted at www.SherwoodCopper.com.
