ONTARIO No sooner did RUBICON MINERALS of Toronto begin dewatering the old Phoenix gold mine near Red Lake, than it intersected more bonanza grades from surface. This time an intersection of 361.7 g/t (10.55 opt) Au over 1.8 m, including 811.0 g/t over 0.8 m.
Since the company discovered the F2 zone in February 2008, it has intersected significant gold mineralization over a vertical distance of 550 m and over an interpreted strike length of 160 m. An updated north-south composite vertical section suggests that the mineralized envelope displays a steep plunge to the northwest and is open for follow up. A plan map of the F2 Zone shows the trace of the composite section and the interpreted trend of gold mineralization.
Rubicon plans on-going drilling to infill and expand the current mineralized envelope both down-plunge and along strike.
