Names in the news (January 01, 2009)

The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame has just added four new members. This year’s inductees are Bernard Michel, (Born 1938), Roman Shklanka, (Born 1932), Grenville Thomas, (Born 1941) and Donald Gorman.(Born 1922). The induction ceremony was held at the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame’s 21st Annual Dinner in Toronto earlier this month.

• Frontera Copper Corp (TSX:FCC) (TSX: FCC. NT) (TSX: FCC. NT. A) has announced the appointment of Hugh Snyder to the position of Chairman of the Board.

• Prominex Resource Corp (TSX VENTURE:PXR) just announced that Daren Collins, P. Eng., has been appointed President and CEO by the Board of Directors.

• Goldcorp Inc (TSX:G) announces that Kevin McArthur retired as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Office last month. Replacing Mr. McArthur is Charles Jeannes, Goldcorp’s Executive Vice-president.

• Grenville Gold Corp (TSX: VENTURE:GVG) has appointed Brian Gusko as an independent Director. Mr. Gusko has been involved with investor relations and as a capital markets advisor.
