Quebec junior reports good news
With more and more mining companies reporting “care and maintenance” status, it’s encouraging that firms like Rocmec Mining Inc. of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, are making positive announcements regarding their operations.
In a recent update of its business activities, the company announced that its Rocmec 1 property located in Rouyn- Noranda, Quebec, is operating on a 24-hours-a-day basis and its underground installation of a 75 tpd treatment plant has just produced its first tonnes of gold and silver concentrate.
First test trials of the concentrate project that 30-40% of gold will be captured using a Knelson concentrator and the remaining gold and silver will be included in the 4-5 tonnes of concentrate produced per day.
Over the next three months the mineralized rock stockpiled underground will be treated, following which management says it plans to put a team in place to supply the mill and have it operate on the basis of at least five days per week year round.
