More ‘downs’ than ‘ups’ at this year’s PDAC
If a picture says a 1000 words, then this one speaks volumes about the mood at last month’s PDAC meeting in Toronto. As the photo depicts, there were more ‘sad’ faces as the mood was ‘down’ as opposed to the few who were looking up insofar as business was concerned.
Reports from PDAC say attendance was also down to about 18,000 delegates from 20,000 or so in 2008, but that didn’t seem to impact on the actual number of people attending the show’s “Investors’ Exchange” where some 600 exhibitors displayed their company’s properties and resources. And, as so often happens right at the convention, talks of mergers and acquisitions were taking place everywhere.
