BRITISH COLUMBIA — Vancouver's Hard Creek Nickel has signed a traditional knowledge protocol with the Kaska Dene. The agreement includes a traditional knowledge study to be undertaken this summer on Hard Creek's Turnagain nickel property near Dease Lake.
The protocol sets out commitments by both sides towards achieving a mutually beneficial relationship. The accord provides specific detail regarding the Kaska Dena ownership, control and management of their traditional knowledge, including terms on prior informed consent, confidentiality and intellectual property rights.
