Diavik Diamond Mine reaches safety milestone

Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., operator of the Diavik Diamond Mines in Canada’s Northwest Territories, has just announced that its workforce at the remote site has achieved two million hours without a lost-time injury.

Diavik’s workforce achieved this safety milestone over a period of 11 months. The company’s last lost-time injury occurred exactly one year ago this month.

Additionally, over a 120-day period, Diavik’s workforce has surpassed one million hours without any recordable injury or medical treatment.

These achievements mark the safest year since the company started mining operations in the north in 2003.
