GOLD MINING: Bachelor bulk sample gold content 25% higher than forecast

QUEBEC – Metanor Resources of Val d’Or, QC, says the 5,000-tonne bulk sample from its Bachelor project in Le Sueur township yielded 25.1% more gold than forecast. Processing recovered 1,033 oz of gold rather than the expected 826 oz.

The increase was due to both to better grade and better recovery than the estimates. Using the reserve model with 25% dilution, the company expected gold recovery to be 93.0% and the grade to be 5.22 g/t Au. Instead, recovery reached 97.6% and grade was 6.07 g/t Au.

Processing the bulk sample proved the continuity of the ore as well as the quality and distribution, said Metanor. The work also proved that replacing the Merrill-Crowe circuit with a carbon-in-pulp circuit in the mill was the right decision.
