Mining engineer Samantha Espley and entrepreneur Milad Mansour have been honoured with induction into the MineConnect Hall of Fame, recognizing their significant contributions to the mining industry. MineConnect Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on February 5 during the MineConnect Annual General Meeting in Sudbury, Ontario.

Espley, the first woman to receive this recognition in the Hall of Fame's 20-year history, was awarded the Sector Leadership and Influence award. Known for her innovative thinking and leadership, Espley has made a lasting impact on the industry through her technical expertise, advocacy for diversity, and commitment to mentorship.

Throughout her 40-year career, Espley has pushed for innovation and collaboration, playing key roles in groundbreaking projects such as INCO's first teleoperated mine and Vale's trials of battery-electric vehicles underground. She co-founded Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Sudbury to support women in STEM careers and has served as a role model for many in the industry.

Milad Mansour, founder and president of Mansour Group, was recognized for his visionary leadership and five decades of business development. Arriving in Canada from Lebanon in 1971, Mansour built a diverse enterprise that now encompasses mining technologies, rail services, logistics, and chemicals, employing over 300 people.

Mansour's journey exemplifies innovation and perseverance. He transformed a small loan into a thriving business empire, developing patented technologies that have improved mining safety. His commitment to customer care and community involvement has been central to his success.

Both honourees have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing the mining industry. Their inductions celebrate careers marked by technical excellence, strategic vision, and a commitment to fostering the next generation of mining professionals.
