TORONTO - Nickel giant INCO LTD. says its has signed a technology transfer agreement covering its SO2-air process for cyanide destruction with Germany's CYPLUS, a subsidiary of DEGUSSA. The transfer will occur in phases, eventually allowing Inco to concentrate on its core mining business. Inco will continue to service its SO2-air customers during the transfer.

The SO2-air cyanide destruction technology has been a worldwide leader in the marketplace for over 20 years. In January 2003, Inco and CyPlus announced the product launch of their new jointly-developed CombinOx technology, a process that takes advantage of synergies between the SO2-air technology and Degussa's peroxygen technologies.

CyPlus produces and sells cyanide for the global gold industry and complies with all provisions of the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC). Learn more at its website, www.CyPlus.com.
