SUMMARY:Future of Mining Sydney 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Future of Mining conference takes place from May 14-15 in Sydney and addresses the key strategic and operational questions from project and operations level management through to the boardroom allowing attendees to discover the latest innovations and technologies which are driving mine productivity\, mine efficiency and mine safety today. \nFour-hundred-plus mine managers\, executives\, suppliers and experts will gather to discuss and discover the latest insights and technologies driving mine productivity\, mine efficiency and mine safety today and tomorrow. \nJoin us to explore key issues including: \n• Miners are leaner and meaner\, with balance sheets cleaner\, but are they more agile and ready to deliver better capital returns over the next decade? What are the critical areas of operational excellence\, and what does excellence look like? \n• How are miners adapting to an era of rapid technological\, social and geopolitical change? \n• How well are miners equipped to deal with the automation of mines and what impact will this have on current and future mine development? \n• How should companies think about upskilling the workforce for digitisation- recruiting\, retaining and training new and current talent \nOther topics will include: blockchain\, AI\, visualisation\, 3D mine mapping\, fast data management\, real time analysis\, social licence to operate and energy efficiency. \nView the latest agenda at http://www.future-of-mining-sydney.com/static/agenda \nSpeakers include: \nJohan Coetzee\, Chief Technology Officer\, South32\nGustavo Viera\, Chief Information Officer\, Vale\nMichelle Ash\, Chief Innovation Officer\, Barrick Gold\nRick Howes\, Chief Executive Officer\, Dundee Precious Metals \nView the latest speaker list at http://www.future-of-mining-sydney.com/static/speakers

SUMMARY:HYi-302 Proportional Control Technology (formerly PCT)
DESCRIPTION:Electro-proportional hydraulic valves have become evermore present in most hydraulic powered and controlled machines and processes. This course offering will bridge the gap between conventional valve technologies and so called continuous control valves through understanding the operation of the valve and control. For this purpose there will be ample time devoted to the actual interconnection and operation of valves and their associated control electronics. Students will configure the electronic interface and place the valve in working circuits to observe the operation and tune the control. Through this hands-on approach\, students will develop their setup and troubleshooting skills. This 5 day training course is also a proper starting point for plant engineering personnel prior to our advanced HYi-303 Proportional Circuit Design course.
