SUMMARY:Filtered\, Paste and Thickened Tailings
DESCRIPTION:Filtered\, paste and thickened tailings is developing into a mature technology with wide application in mine tailings management. Several large tonnage operations are being developed based on paste and filtered tailings systems. \nThe successful implementation of filtered\, paste and thickened tailings technology is dependent on a sound understanding of slurry colloidal behavior\, thickening and thickener operation\, filtration\, rheology\, pump and pipeline transport systems\, conveyor transport and disposal methodologies. \nThis four day course\, presented in conjunction with Prof. Andy Fourie of the University of Western Australia\, provides delegates with a thorough background to the field so that they are better equipped to successfully implement filtered\, paste and thickened tailings systems.

DESCRIPTION:The Secretariat to the Cree Nation Abitibi-Témiscamingue Economic Alliance in collaboration with the City of Rouyn-Noranda and the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) / Cree Nation government is organizing its 15th conference entitled: The North and its Logistics. \nThis event will be held on June 5 and 6\, 2019 at the Centre de Congrès de Rouyn-Noranda and will take place under the honorary co-chairs the mayor of the City of Rouyn-Noranda\, Diane Dallaire and the president of the Secretariat to the Cree Nation Abitibi-Témiscamingue Economic Alliance\, Dr. Ted Moses. \nThe focus will be on the potential and the challenges of the logistic activities of the regional\, interregional\, and interprovincial economy. The backdrop will be the development of large projects of Abitibi-Témiscamingue as well as the great challenges which influence the development of Northern Quebec. In addition to presentations and conferences\, the event will allow SME and organizations present to benefit from networking and to establish links with the Cree Nation and the Aboriginals present\, favourable with strategic alliances.
