Drilling Tool Handles All Ground Types

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | August 2, 2009 | 12:00 am

Fordia’s HERO driller is a diamond-tipped tool designed to cut through quartz and all types of granite or equivalent hardness rocks and is well adapted for softer and abrasive ground as well.

The bit’s diamond cutting edges are coated with titanium in order to preserve their cutting abilities throughout the bit furnacing process. Furthermore, it is manufactured using a new unitary furnacing process regularizing the consistency of the tools.

The tool comes with a diamond impregnation height of 13 mm and is available in standard, pie-shaped and turbo pie-shaped configurations. For deep hole applications, it can also be ordered in Vulcan, with a diamond impregnation height of 16 mm.
