Duratray grows
The Melbourne, Australia, and Antofagasta, Chile-based company, Conymet-Duratray, has experienced strong growth in sales during 2005-06. More than 80 new Duratray suspended dump bodies for large mine dump trucks have been sold in recent months for use on equipment such as Caterpillar 777, 793 and 797B, Komatsu 730E, 830E and 930E and Terex MT4400.
The unique body offers significantly extended wear life in hard abrasive conditions — typically 20,000 to 30,000 hours — as well as the virtual elimination of carry-back material in the trays in wet, softer conditions. These factors combined with significantly reduced shock and vibration on the equipment and the operator mean that both truck availability and operator acceptance are very high.
Sales have also surged for the company’s other product line — the all-steel high-efficiency HE-series trays for large off-highway dump trucks — with more than 70 new units sold for equipment such as the Komatsu 930E and Liebherr T282B, as well as many others for smaller Cat 789 and Komatsu 730E haul trucks.
