Local Company Plays Big Part In Worldwide Mining Scene
Boreal-Information Strategies of Montreal is pleased to announce that it is among 10 Quebec businesses chosen to participate in the prestigious and coveted “Croissance Quebec Techno” program, developed by the Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Entrepreneurship Centre, to provide training to develop and put-in-place strategies for rapid business growth.
Boreal-IS was chosen because of its entrepreneurial work with information technologies operating to help mining, and oil and gas companies manage the social and environmental impacts of their activities on individuals and communities in areas affected by large-scale projects.
The company specializes in the installation of strategic mapping systems and integrating geographic data with the goal of providing sustainable solutions in managing projects. The company’s 35 employees are regularly sent to mining projects around the world and have completed work for Barrick Gold, Newmont, Freeport McMoRan and Rio Tinto.
