New compact excavators
One of the world’s leaders in construction and mining equipment, Hitachi, has introduced two new compact excavators. The company says these ultra-short machines are long on the features that Hitachi excavators are famous for. And their small size allows the operator to focus on the digging operation, and worry less about what is going on behind him.
Developed for landscaping, urban renewal and underground utilities, they may have applications as service vehicles at many open pits and at surface facilities. The small excavators come in two configurations, the ZX75US- 3 with a standard boom and the ZX85USB-3 with a swing boom. The swing boom allows parallel digging to walls, guard rails and foundations. Either version can be fitted with a backfill blade that has been redesigned with a new shape for better crowding performance, additional machine stability, and it is easier to see by the operator.
These excavators come with a choice of a standard engine or an Isuzu 4LE2X engine that offers better fuel economy and lower noise. Coupling the 4LE2X engine with Hitachi’s HIOS III hydraulic system gives the machines scalpel-like precision. Operators enjoy spacious, comfortable cabs.
