Selling Iron Keeps Auctioneers Busy

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | February 1, 2009 | 12:00 am

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers continue to be busy with the sale of used and unused equipment for the mining industry. Through its RitchieWiki ( www.RitchieWiki.com)site, the company offers a specifications engine with specs for 11,000 different machines. The wiki is a collaborative web site that anyone can visit to research, read, add and edit information about equipment. The site was launched in November, 2008, as a 50th Anniversary gift from Ritchie Bros. to its customers.

And speaking of customers and equipment, three of Ritchie Bros’ recent auctions (Australia in June, Spain in July, and the U. S. in November) sold well over US$100 million in equipment to on-site and on-line bidders from around the world.
