Wardrop celebrates 50 years

Canadian Mining Journal Staff | August 1, 2005 | 12:00 am

Wardrop is celebrating its golden anniversary this year. With ISO 9001:2000 registration for quality management, Wardrop is recognized for its commitment to quality and creative solutions.

W.L. (Les) Wardrop, PEng., founded the company in 1955, undertaking public works and housing subdivision servicing in Manitoba. Today, Wardrop is an employee-owned international consulting firm with more than 600 employees, providing integrated engineering, environmental, information technology, and business solutions to its clients.

Wardrop has successfully completed projects in 42 countries, contributing to some of the world’s most significant endeavours–from the International Space Station and mapping of the human genome, to managing radioactive waste safely, and developing great infrastructure projects throughout the world.

It has been honoured with a number of awards, including recognition as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada for four consecutive years, a Global Traders Award for Market Expansion, an Outstanding Business Achievement Award of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and the Canadian International Development Agency’s Gender Equality Achievement Award.
